Introduction

The Department of Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Program Manager (MILGP) with the Indigenous Economic Partnerships Division / Indigenous Business Development Branch.

Duties:

Manitoba’s Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program (MILGP) is being established to offer up to $300 million in guarantees for Indigenous-led wind energy projects. It is a departmental mandate item that offers significant opportunities for Manitoba to advance economic reconciliation and for Indigenous inclusion in the provincial economy.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Indigenous Business Development and requiring strong leadership and a deep understanding of financial assistance programs, the position will lead the implementation and delivery of the MILGP, oversee the MILGP business development liaison team and ensure high-quality service to applicants.

The position is responsible for program implementation, stakeholder and partner engagement, performance monitoring, and providing strategic advice to senior leadership regarding program delivery, emerging issues, and opportunities related to Indigenous economic development.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in program management, customer service leadership, or a related field
  • Supervisory experience with proven ability to manage teams, resolve conflicts, and foster professional development
  • Experience working with loan guarantees or business financing programs
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and awareness of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, rights, and governance
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including experience working with or within government departments, Indigenous organizations or similar government structures.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French
