About the Role

On behalf of our client in the Banking industry, Astek Canada is seeking a motivated Program Manager ready to take on new challenges.

Your Responsibilities

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and documenting detailed solution designs within SDS, providing subject matter expertise throughout the lifecycle.
• Participating in complex application and system development, including programming.
• Proposing solution options and generating stakeholder support.
• Collaborating with stakeholders on project estimates.
• Producing high-quality functional, technical, and user interface designs.
• Considering business needs, Enterprise Architecture, system performance, and development standards to develop appropriate designs.
• Consulting on the development of the System Requirements Specification (SRS).
• Reviewing technical deliverables for quality, identifying gaps or redesign needs.
• Defining metrics and performance goals with technology partners and peers.
• Ensuring project milestones are met, solutions are delivered on time and within budget, and standards are adhered to.
• Minimizing costs and introducing strategic solutions for cost-effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Conducting code reviews, operational readiness reviews, and supporting gating and review sign-offs.
• Supporting knowledge management processes and ensuring knowledge is documented and tracked.
• Leveraging reusable components, tracing designs to requirements, and designing new modules with reusability in mind.
• Addressing issues affecting application integrity, such as cross-capability or release issues.
• Providing technical support for incident and outage resolution.

Your Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
• 5-7 years of experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing on SQL Server 2012 and above.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft stack, including SQL.
• Experience with Entity Framework and Web API 2 is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of business, organizational, technical standards, tools, and solutions design.
• Ability to work autonomously in a lead capacity, coaching and monitoring others.
• Expertise in multiple areas, with strong client and team counseling skills.
• High quality commitment, proactivity, ownership, and technical leadership.
• Effective communication skills and understanding of Market Risk management in banking.

• Financial experience is advantageous.
