Position Summary :
The Program Manager will be responsible for launching new part numbers on time and within budget, while meeting the expectations of the customer. Disciplined adherence to APQP principles (both internally and externally) and planning for success is important in this role. For projects deemed critical, the Program Manager will be involved as early as the quoting stage, managing the program all the way through a successful PPAP, then monitoring for at least six months into production. They will plan & coordinate internal departmental activity, pertaining to customer expectations and / or issues.
This position will report to the Vice President of Business Development.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Manage a program from inception to completion, including all internal and external teams.
- Assist in identifying new business opportunities and supporting critical large program quotes.
- Promote APQP standards both internally and externally.
- Interact regularly, as the face of Arrow, with our customers supporting new business development activities.
- Delegate engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
- Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and support Customer presentations and participate when needed.
- Track and report on engineering targets (BOM cost, quality, customer and / or internal plant delivery timing, performance, project, and department engineering budget, etc.) for all assigned projects.
- Ensure engineering timing plans, defect / issues list, risk assessments, lessons learned are created and maintained and provide engineering status for project reviews (e.g. APQP milestones, etc.) according to program timing for all assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance to Company procedures (e.g. Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards.
- Comply with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS).
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of product design techniques and can support design for manufacturability discussions.
- Understand the concepts of synchronous manufacturing and lean production manufacturing methodologies and the ability to formulate and implement a tactical plan.
- Document program timing and budgets in real time.
- Able to lead the functional teams from Quote to PPAP, with a monitoring stage after start of production.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve plant productivity.
- Assist in the commissioning of new plants / lines equipment, and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is managed efficiently and with minimum disruptions.
- Follow safe work procedures; Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Use workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Report workplace hazards, injuries, and illness as soon as possible following event.
- Comply with duties and responsibilities as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and ensure corrective action is taken when violations occur.
- Perform other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals.
- Ensure that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
- Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001).
