Job summary

The YMCA of Southern Interior BC is seeking an Activity Program Leader to deliver engaging after-school programs for children aged 5–12 across multiple locations in the Kelowna region. Join a collaborative team focused on safe, fun, and developmentally supportive experiences.

You will plan activities aligned with YMCA values, support learning through play, and help cultivate healthy development while maintaining safety and supervision in line with provincial licensing.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age or older in accordance with provincial licensing standards.
• Responsible Adult Certification or a minimum of 20 hours of professional development related to children's health, nutrition, safety, development, and/or guidance.
• Experience working with children.
• Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR Level B or C.
• Valid Class 4 Driver's Licence is considered an asset.

The YMCA Child Care division is seeking Activity Program Leaders to deliver engaging after-school care programs at various locations throughout the region. Working collaboratively with a dynamic and supportive team, you will create safe, fun, and interest-led experiences for children ages 5–12 while fostering meaningful relationships and supporting healthy child development.

Quick Facts

• Compensation: $18.25/hr
• Reporting to: Child Care Supervisor/Manager
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., with opportunities for additional hours during school breaks and early dismissal days.
• Location: Various YMCA Child Care program locations.
• Employment Status: Part-Time
