Job summary

Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation in Timmins, ON is recruiting for a Talking Together Facilitator to support Circle-based child welfare/family justice processes.

The role requires a secondary school diploma with related experience; a post-secondary degree in social work or related field is preferred. Travel to the James Bay Area is required; strong MS Office skills and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to speak the language and knowledge of culture an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of the legal system is an asset
  • This position requires at a minimum a secondary school diploma with related work experience.
  • It is preferred that the TTF hold a post-secondary degree or diploma in social work, child and family worker program, mental health or related fields
  • Experience working with NAN and in First Nation Communities
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Travel will be required to the James Bay Area
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, internet, and general office equipment

Nishnawbe-Aski Legal Services Corporation is presently recruiting for a

Timmins, ON

Talking Together is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. The purpose of the program is to utilize a traditional/alternative justice approach to resolving child welfare/family matters in order to avoid unnecessary and potentially damaging litigation. The process used is the Circle in order to empower families to arrive at acceptable resolutions to matters. Circles are arranged and conducted by a Talking Together Facilitator.
