Youth Programs Coordinator – Youth Worker

Job Summary: Spend each day making a positive a difference in the lives of Abbotsford’s youth and take the lead in several of our programs.

What you will do each day:

·work as a part of the AYC Leadership Team to develop programming

·develop and deliver new programs according to funding guidelines

·take the lead in several of our programs including DEI, leadership development and social emotional learning

·build connection with youth in our youth centres, at local schools and in our other programs

·create a safe atmosphere where youth can thrive; encourage positive growth and development

·assist us to support, direct and develop our team of youth workers and volunteers

·make a difference in the lives of youth

What we need from you:

·enthusiasm, patience, and a sense of humour

·a positive view of youth and an understanding of youth issues

·experience working with youth is required / experience in volunteer or staff supervision is an asset

·experience planning and facilitating youth programs and activities

·a car that you can use on a daily basis to get to and from programs throughout the day (we reimburse for mileage)

·a degree (in a related field is an asset)

·a willingness to put yourself ‘out there’ and approach youth, guardians and community members to talk about our programs

·a clean criminal record check

When we need you:

·the ideal candidate will be available for full time work

·shifts are primarily during the day, but also some evenings, and occasionally on the weekends

·you can expect to work ‘day shifts’ 4 days a week and ‘afternoon / early evening’ shifts 1 -2 day a week.

Salary: $24.00-$25.00 / hr to start
