Job summary

Manitoba Métis Federation seeks a full-time Program Coordinator for Pemmican Publications in Winnipeg, MB. The role plans, implements, coordinates and oversees department programs to meet strategic goals within budget and timelines.

Responsibilities include coordinating events, developing funding proposals, and ensuring program effectiveness. Travel may be required; a Manitoba driver’s license is necessary. Pemmican Publications focuses on Métis-authored works and MMF initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience in program coordination, project management, and event coordination.
  • Knowledge of program development, implementation, and management procedures.
  • Experience preparing funding proposals for social service projects and community programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and MMF programs and services is an asset.
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.

  • Assist with funding proposals, reporting and program evaluation to support MMF initiatives.

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

Pemmican Publications Incorporated (Pemmican) was founded as a non-profit organization in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1980 by the Manitoba Métis Federation. It is a Red River Métis owned and operated publishing house in Canada. Pemmican's mandate is to publish books by Red River Métis authors and illustrators with an emphasis on Métis-relevant stories.

Pemmican Publications seeks to fill one full-time Program Coordinator position located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Program Coordinator plans, implements, coordinates, and oversees the department's programs to ensure that established goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, budgetary guidelines, and work plan activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant field; equivalent experience and training may be considered;
  • Experience in program coordination, project management, and event coordination;
  • Knowledge of program development, implementation, and management procedures;
  • Experience preparing funding proposals for social service projects and community programs;
