Job summary

Pacific Coast Community Resources is seeking a Program Coordinator II to support and supervise staff across staffed homes and day programs. You will collaborate with the Program Manager, develop plans, and implement health and well-being programs while ensuring quality service delivery.

You will lead staff, manage scheduling, participate in training, and monitor program outcomes with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Diploma in a field related to Human/Social Services.
• Certificate or Diploma in Management Training.
• Minimum 3 years experience including 1 year supervisory or administrative experience.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Current Emergency First-Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
• TB Test.
• Unrestricted Class 5 Driver's license; Class 4 if driving a commercial vehicle.
• Food Safe Certificate.
• Any qualification or skill required by a Licensing officer or funding body.

Responsibilities

• Formulates program policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with the program manager; monitors expenditures and budget input.
• Plans and evaluates ISP goals to meet the needs of supported persons.
• Assist in staff training, development and guidance; supervise program staff.
• Oversee day-to-day operations; ensure facilities, equipment, guidelines and licensing requirements are met.
• Participate in recruitment and selection of program staff; conduct interviews and hiring recommendations.
• Promote positive relationships with families, coworkers and the community.
• Maintain records and produce reports as required.

Program Coordinator II

The Program Coordinator II shall have the personality, ability, and temperament necessary to interact with the supported persons in a manner that will respect and maintain the persons’ spirit, dignity and individuality.

In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will assist the manager with the supervision of employees, administrative duties, scheduling and the development of plans. This includes the implementation and evaluation of programs that are designed to support a person's health and well-being within staffed homes, centers and home-based day programs.

This position may participate in an on-call rotation, as required, to support after-hours operations. On-call duties include responding to emergencies, staffing needs, and providing direction to staff. Standby and call-back compensation will be provided in accordance with the collective agreement.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Formulates program policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with the program manager, monitors program expenditures and provides input in to the budget
• Plans, develops, implements and evaluates ISP goals to ensure they meet the supported person's physical, social, emotional intellectual and spiritual needs and interests.
• In collaboration with the Program Manager, assist in program training, staff development and provide support and guidance to employees
• Supervises program staff by performing duties such as assigning work, facilitating team meetings, providing feedback on performance and conducting performance evaluations.
• Plans and implement program activities and special events.
• Participates in recruitment and selection of program staff by involvement in duties such as screening, interviews and hiring recommendations.
• Has an excellent understanding of behaviour management principles and strategies including mental health support needs.
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the program by ensuring the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies adhered to and agency standards and licensing requirements are met.
• Contribute to the overall emergency preparedness of the program including the development of emergency evacuation plans and management of emergency supply inventory. Ensures OH&S drills and inspections are documented appropriately.
• Promotes positive relationship with family members, co-workers, other professional and members of the community
• Maintains related records and statistics and produce reports as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. Post-Secondary Diploma in related to Human/ Social Services field
2. Certificate /Diploma in Management Training
3. Minimum 3 years experience including 1 year supervisory or administrative experience and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
4. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
5. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows. Must include word processing and competency with Outlook email application and knowledge in Share Vision
6. Evidence of practice of confidentiality
7. Current Emergency First-Aid and CPR Level C Certification
8. TB Test
9. Unrestricted Class 5 Driver's license. If driving a commercial company vehicle, a Class 4 license is required.
10. Food Safe Certificate
11. Any qualification or skill required by a Licensing officer or funding body
