A public sector organization in Iqaluit is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage and coordinate various programs related to Inuit Languages and Culture. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Business Administration or related fields, along with relevant experience. Reporting to the Chair, Inuit Languages and Culture Programs, the Program Coordinator is accountable for the coordination and administration of all program deliveries including Interpreter Translation Diploma Program, Inuinnaqtun Language Revitalization Certificate Program, Inuit Studies Diploma Program, and Jewelry and Metalwork Diploma program. The incumbent provides program leadership, administration, program promotion, proposal and report development and logistical planning related to program deliveries, and the facilitation of conferences, courses, and workshops are also key accountabilities of the position.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a Diploma in Business Administration, Program Management, or Program Coordination with two (2) years of work experience related to Business Administration, Financial Management, Project Management or Program Coordination. Assets include experience working in the field of Inuit Languages and/or Cultural Programs; coursework or certification in adult education.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.

As this is a term position, current indeterminate Government of Nunavut employees may be offered a competitive transfer assignment for the duration of the term if they are deemed to be the successful candidate, however this is subject to managerial approval.
