What you'll do:
  • Assist clients in achieving optimal animal health and welfare while supporting economic returns through efficient animal management.
  • Provide veterinary services for cow-calf and feedlot operations.
  • Offer comprehensive support to feedlot, cow/calf, and dairy operations using veterinarian, nutrition, and research consultants.
  • Deliver up-to-date professional consultation to help cattle producers raise healthy, productive cattle.
  • Perform bovine surgeries and calvings.
  • Conduct pregnancy diagnoses and breeding soundness exams.
  • Perform animal and herd examinations, either in person or via digital imaging.
  • Handle regulatory procedures related to cattle import/export and certification.
  • Communicate protocols, research findings, and recommendations effectively to clients and follow up as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee training for cow-calf and feedlot workers.
  • Perform other veterinary procedures as required.
  • Utilize data to monitor health parameters and perform data analysis as needed.
  • Identify concerns, develop action plans, and collaborate with the Consultant Team.
  • Advise clients on animal health and production protocols.
  • Visit client sites to monitor animal health procedures and maintain positive communication.
What you bring:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Qualification for licensure with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association.
  • Strong communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
