Job summary

CORBEC COMPANY in Montreal region seeks a hands-on galvanizing plant worker responsible for racking and unracking steel parts. You will organize workspaces, select hang and securing methods, and ensure safe handling of parts during the galvanizing process.

Responsibilities include unpacking, using clamps and chains, and preparing parts for shipment. Evening/night shift, 40 hours per week, with benefits and training opportunities offered.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the various tools used (grinder, pliers, file, etc.).
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate parts weighing between 5 and 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Organize workspace according to parts to be handled.
  • Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
  • Unpack the materials brought in by the customer.
  • Visualize the different parts to be hung and choose the best hanging method.
  • Select the appropriate equipment for securing the parts: clamps, chains, combs, etc.
  • Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
  • Unhook the parts, either by removing the chains or cutting the pins that secure the steel parts.
  • Touch up any parts with quality defects.
  • Stack the galvanized parts on pallets, in barrels, or on trailers.
  • Package the parts for shipment to the customer.

Our facilities, conveniently located in Lachine, St. Augustin de Desmaures, Princeville, Hamilton, and Halifax are equipped with tanks of varying sizes to galvanize a wide range of steel products.

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for handling customer steel parts before and after galvanizing.

Responsibilities
Racking
  • Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
  • Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
  • Unpack the materials brought in by the customer.
  • Visualize the different parts to be hung and choose the best hanging method.
  • Select the appropriate equipment for securing the parts: clamps, chains, combs, etc.
Unracking
  • Organize your workspace according to the parts to be handled.
  • Unhook the parts, either by removing the chains or cutting the pins that secure the steel parts.
  • Frequently handle parts weighing between 5 lbs and 50 lbs.
  • Select the finishing equipment for the parts: grinder, files, various zinc paints.
  • Touch up any parts with quality defects.
  • Stack the galvanized parts on pallets, in barrels, or on trailers.
  • Package the parts for shipment to the customer.

Conditions

Salary: $20.16/hour (+ night shift premium)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: Night (10:45 PM to 06:45 AM)
