Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Mississauga is hiring a Production Worker to create and assemble printing plates and contribute to production goals. You will work as a team to meet targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is self-driven with a strong work ethic, able to stand, walk, lift, and reach. Our facility runs three shifts (days, afternoons, nights) with shift assignments at hire.

Qualifications

• Read and understand docket instructions, manufacturing specs and printing specs.
• Basic computer skills to record entries into software.
• Willingness to cross-train within the production department.
• Follow all safety and quality control processes.
• Ability to interact effectively with other staff and customers.
• Fully understand the safety procedures of the department/plant.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.

Smurfit Westrock is one of the largest and most respected packaging companies in the world. Our Mississauga facility manufactures the printing plates that are used by other Smurfit Westrock facilities to do the printing on cardboard boxes. Have you ever ordered pizza or purchased something online? There is a good chance that it was a Smurfit Westrock box made at one of our facilities.

Career Opportunity

We are hiring a Production Worker to create and assemble printing plates. We have 7 different jobs in our facility and you will have the opportunity to learn different skills and contribute the production goals.

Working as a team, you will ensure production targets are met and that you and your co-workers are working safely. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have a strong work ethic.

To be considered for the position, you must have a strong work ethic, be physically fit as the job requires standing, walking, lifting and reaching.

Our facility has 3 shifts; Days 5:00am – 1:00pm, Afternoons 1:00pm – 9:00pm and Nights 9:00pm – 5:00am. You must be able to work a steady shift which will be determined at time of hire.
