Job summary

Skretting, a Nutreco company, invites you to join as a Production Technician in Vancouver. You will support feed production through a broad range of operations, maintain safety, and contribute to continuous improvement in a 12-hour shift pattern.

We value hands-on experience in manufacturing, a background in production management, and willingness to work off regular hours. You’ll be part of a global leader in aquafeed, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years manufacturing background with production management experience.
  • Aquaculture industry experience is an asset.
  • Able to operate equipment and machinery requiring advanced specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a broad range of production tasks to support safe, efficient processes.
  • Inspect equipment and notify maintenance needs.
  • Log production orders data in systems for traceability.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support process optimization.
  • Ensure safety, environmental and quality compliance.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and organize the production line.

What you’ll do

  • Operational tasks: Executes a broad range of operational activities and processes (such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, operate all equipment), to execute stages in production, contributing to a safe, effective and efficient production processes.

  • Maintenance check: Periodically inspects and highlight maintenance required on the production equipment, signalling defects and deficiencies.

  • Reporting: Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate systems to have a complete administration and insight in the state and progress of production orders

  • Continuous improvement: Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems and participate in improvement projects

  • Safety & Compliance: Works in compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards. Promotes awareness and signals potential hazardous and or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations

  • Good housekeeping: Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line, working area and production site

Who we’re looking for

  • At least 2+ years of solid background in manufacturing with experience in production management

  • Previous experience in the aquaculture industry is an asset

  • Able to operate all types of equipment and machinery that requires advanced specialized.

You’ll also need

  • Ability to work in 12 hour shift on-site 3 days a week, rotating weekly and shift time 6.00 Am to 6.00 Pm OR 6.00 Pm to 6.00 Am)

  • Ability to bent, twist, lift and carry- 5 to 10 kgs of weight occasionally

  • Strong manufacturing background with experience in production
