Job summary

Skretting in Vancouver seeks a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role focuses on inspections, preventive and planned maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, with a commitment to early issue flagging and long-term improvements.

The position offers a 12-hour shift pattern, three days per week, with rotation between days and nights. You’ll operate in a manufacturing setting with a strong emphasis on safety, data analysis, and collaboration with supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Millwright or formal education in maintenance/mechanical with a bachelor’s degree or diploma and experience in manufacturing/engineering.
  • 10+ years of solid background in manufacturing with experience in production and maintenance management.
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and perform preventive and planned maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment, perform hands-on maintenance and corrective tasks.
  • Participate in complex maintenance projects and recommend improvements based on experience and analysis.

What You’ll Do
  • Inspections, Preventive & Planned Maintenance: Assess and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. Fix defects and perform corrective tasks based on inspection results.
  • Flag potential issues early and suggest long-term solutions.
  • Operates within maintenance, with a focus on execution of preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Prevent any malfunction of the equipment, apparatus, machinery or systems that are used in the production process.
  • Participating in complex maintenance projects.
  • Malfunctions & Emergency Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, evaluate severity and determine repair urgency, perform hands-on repairs and consult with supervisors when needed
  • Modifications & Upgrades: Execute overhaul and modification work per instructions, recommend improvements based on your experience and technical insight
  • Knowledge of EAM, for maintenance operations, contractors' management and root cause analysis
Who We’re Looking For
  • Millwright or formal education or qualification in field of maintenance and mechanical, including a bachelor's degree or diploma, along with relevant experience in the manufacturing field or engineering industry.
  • At least 10+ years of solid background in manufacturing with experience in production and maintenance management

You’ll also need
  • Ability to work in 12 hours shift, 3 days/nights a week. Weekly rotation.
  • Ability to bent, twist, lift and carry- 5 to 10 kgs of weight occasionally
  • Strong manufacturing background with experience in maintenance
  • Attention to detail with good data analysis skills
