Job summary

Hunter Amenities International Ltd. in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a Team Leader to support our production team, uphold safety, quality standards, and meet daily targets.

You will help plan staffing, monitor line priorities, and ensure resources are available for smooth operation. This role requires at least two years in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, strong organization and leadership skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Secondary Highschool education is required.
  • 2+ years in a high-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organization, planning and leadership skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support production team by ensuring tools and resources are available.
  • Assist in scheduling staffing for shift production and line resourcing.
  • Serve as first point of contact for production, safety, quality or employee relations issues.
  • Escalate policy or employee relations violations when needed.
  • Ensure employees work safely and adhere to ISO, GMP, quality and environmental procedures.
  • Prepare shift reports and communicate daily runs or problems to the next shift.
  • Coach team members to maintain line efficiency and target run rates.
  • Collaborate on production priorities with other shifts.

Job description

Under the direction of the shift supervisor, the role of the Team Leader is to support and empower our production team members to ensure we are operating safely, while achieving our high-quality standards and production targets. The Team Lead will help maintain production requirements by providing input on staffing needs, and monitoring and updating production priorities on an ongoing basis for their assigned lines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Support team members by ensuring they have the tools and resources necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of their roles.

Provide input and assist in scheduling proper staffing for shift production including assisting with line resourcing taking into consideration any approved accommodations. Provide required onboarding training for all new employees and temporary staff

Act as first point of contact for any production, safety, quality or employee relations issues that arise.

As needed, escalates any violations of company policies or employee relations issues that require further action or investigation to the shift supervisor

Ensures that all employees are working safely

Works closely with:
Scheduling – changes in job priorities
Line Service – flow of materials
Receiving & QA/QC – material requirements

Completes the first quality control check at the start of production

Ensures all samples required are submitted

Ensures that the right quantity for the job is produced unless special instruction was given

Coach and support team members to ensure that lines are running efficiently and that the target run rates throughout the shift are being met

Line speeds to be checked at start of shift to ensure maximum speed

Checks paperwork on the lines to ensure accuracy

Prepares shift reports - communicate to the next shift on daily runs, procedures or problems on line

Achieves operational objectives

Help determine and collaborate with other shifts on production priorities

Coach team members on company policies and procedures

Perform assigned duties in compliance with applicable ISO, GMP, quality, and environmental procedures and promptly report deviations or risks.

Qualifications and Experience:

Secondary Highschool education

2+ years in a high-paced manufacturing environment

Organization, planning and leadership skills

Experience with Microsoft Office programs

Physical Demands:

Standing and walking for extended periods of time

Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds

Pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
