Bimeda’s nine manufacturing facilities across seven countries produce a broad range of products, including sterile injectables, vaccinations, nutritional boluses, feed additives, tablets, water-soluble powders, pastes, and non-sterile liquids. This is a night-shift position, Monday - Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.

Purpose of the Position/Role Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor manages all production activities during the night shift at the Cambridge location. The role oversees production, people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost activities, handles inventory management of critical supplies, and leads continuous improvement projects to enhance compliance, productivity, and costs. The supervisor manages hourly, unionized employees in various classifications.

Role Specific Requirements
  • Lead and manage production to specifications, complying with cGMP, GDP, safety, and company policies.
  • Manage inventory of critical supplies to meet production needs.
  • Maintain and optimize management processes, including production schedules, performance metrics, and downtime reduction; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Motivate and develop employees through coaching, team building, communication, and accountability, aiming to improve processes and performance.
  • Facilitate training to ensure employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and competence.
  • Report and investigate deviations from validated processes, taking corrective actions as required.
  • Prioritize safety, health, and environmental procedures; investigate and address potential issues; ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop respectful relationships with team members and collaborate across departments for continuous improvement and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries.
  • Exercise judgment in escalating issues during the night shift.
  • Manage attendance and ensure accurate payroll hours.
  • Comply with the Collective Agreement and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Essential
  • 5+ years supervisory experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in aseptic manufacturing is an asset
  • University or college degree
  • Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and Health Canada regulations (asset)
  • Understanding of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement experience
  • Strong technical, leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
Desirable
  • Supervisory experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
