Job description

Levitt-Safety has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our Oakville team in Ontario.

Summary

As the successful candidate, you will be part of a dynamic team and exert a high level of confidence in performing verifications, certifications, maintenance/inspections, and repairs on fire alarm systems as per applicable fire codes.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Regular inspections and maintenance of fire alarm systems and equipment including repairs and documenting deficiencies, according to NFPA guidelines.
  2. Verify newly installed fire alarm systems, breaker panels associated to fire alarms and complete verification reports and program addressable panels.
  3. Maintain code-mandated records of all inspections, testing, repairs, system impairments and other associated paperwork per Levitt ISO standards.
  4. Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors as required and assist in special project management working closely with the design team project manager.
  5. Respond to after-hours emergency calls.
  6. Ongoing participation in health and safety initiatives including the development of JHAs and safe work practices relevant to the role.
  7. Being the face of Levitt-Safety for our customers and their onsite safety needs.

Ideal Qualifications

  1. Valid CFAA Registration.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years Industry experience in Fire Detection, Special Hazards, and Programming Addressable Panels.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Working knowledge of applicable NFPA, ULC, and Fire codes.
  5. Ability to pass pre-employment checks.
