Production Supervisor (Full Time) - Delta, BC (Starting Salary $85,000 yearly)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations over a team of unionized production employees to meet demand of both external and internal customers.
  2. Coordinate production to meet daily distribution requirements — including daily shuttle needs as well as long haul shipments in BC as well as across Canada and US.
  3. Work closely with different operational departments to maintain safety, compliance, equipment maintenance & reliability and quality programs for assigned area; ensures required government and/or environmental regulations are met.
  4. Ensure team is fully trained in, committed to, and conduct their activities in accordance with all aspects of Linde Safety and Quality systems and requirements, coordinating quality and safety training with Compliance Manager.
  5. Complete monthly Job Safety Observations of production employees and provide coaching / retraining if required.
  6. Monitor production/manpower levels within area of responsibility to ensure continued efficiency while anticipating problems and assisting with developing contingencies, reporting to plant management any problems, issues or production needs.
  7. Lead, develop and implement productivity projects as required.
  8. Coordinate and communicate with counterparts to ensure smooth operation between shifts and proper handoff of production requirements.
  9. Identify issues and lead improvement plans in production processes, shift schedules, overtime levels, training, etc., reporting all activities to plant management.
  10. Manage and escalate equipment and product quality issues when they arise.
  11. Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of consumable production supplies.
  12. Maintain daily employee production records for monthly KPI productivity reporting.
  13. Oversee and manage inventory stocking levels and complete TDG shipping documents if required.
  14. Support 5S and Lean Projects and continuously identify ways to reduce plant operating costs through the incorporation of Operational Excellence strategies.
  15. Handle routine personnel issues including training, coaching and counseling subordinates.
  16. Host monthly production safety meetings and is JHAS Committee lead.
  17. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers to meet customer demands.
  18. Approve and submit employee timecards / Work with payroll to resolve any issues.
  19. Lead / support local and corporate community engagement programs.
  20. Have a working knowledge of PowerBi, Excel, and other Office 365 operating platforms.
  21. Have a working knowledge of how to read and red line P&ID’s while following MOC procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor or Chemical Engineering Degree preferred.
  2. 5+ years’ supervising in a unionized environment.
  3. 5+ years’ experience in an industrial production environment required.
  4. 2+ years managing and developing employees required.
  5. Available to work evening shift.
