Job summary

Qualifications

• College or university diploma required.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a supervisor in a unionized production facility.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and SQF; Lean Manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement programs to improve safety culture.
• Provide leadership, direction and coaching to the production team.
• Promote and enhance a positive employee relation atmosphere and high levels of involvement.
• Apply best practices toward product evaluation, food safety and quality to support Agropur’s standards.
• Support HACCP team to ensure facility and documentation meet third party audits (SQF/HACCP).
• Monitor efficiency of plant equipment and resources to meet production requirements on time.
• Track efficiencies and communicate performance results.
• Be available to cover other shifts as a replacement.

The Production Supervisor monitors operations of the production department to ensure that qualitative and quantitative measures included in the operating plan are met. Specific focus is on sanitation and quality results (HACCP and SQF), health and safety, good manufacturing practices and productivity. The incumbent participates to maintain the requirements on food safety, quality and defence. Other areas of focus are employee relations, production scheduling/staffing, cost reductions, and customer satisfaction. Salary range 004: $80,200 to $100,300 (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

How you will contribute to collective success:

• Ensures consistent application of best practices towards product evaluation, food safety and quality to support and maintain Agropur’s quality standards.
• Supports the operation of the HACCP team to ensure that the facility and documentation is suitable for third party / customer audits to maintain the SQF/ HACCP status at the plant.
• Monitor and ensure efficiency of plant equipment and resources and ensure production requirements are met on time.
• Track efficiencies & productivity, measure results and communicate performance.
• Availability to cover other shifts as a replacement.

The type of team player who fits with the team:

• College or university diploma in a relevant field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a supervisor with direct involvement in a unionized production facility.
• Computer literacy, ideally with MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Knowledge of quality assurance systems (GMP, HACCP and SQF), an asset.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and leading change would be considered an asset.
• Availability to cover other shifts as a replacement.
