Production Supervisor (Converting & Corrugated)

Join to apply for the Production Supervisor (Converting & Corrugated) role at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd.

The Production Supervisor reports to the Department Superintendent and is responsible for leading and developing a high-performance team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality, and line efficiencies within the Mississauga Corrugated plant.

WEEKLY Rotating Shifts: (a) 6 am to 2 pm; 2 pm to 10 pm; 10 pm to 6 am

What You Will Be Doing
  • Leading and supervising a team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality, and productivity in the Corrugated Operations.
  • Ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with OHS standards; protecting workers from hazards, identifying and controlling hazards, and ensuring the use of prescribed safety equipment.
  • Maintaining and enforcing quality standards, including food safety (GMP) and good housekeeping protocols; supporting operations during customer and third-party audits.
  • Developing plans to achieve annual KPI objectives for safety, product quality, efficiencies, and cost; supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coaching and performance managing workers with emphasis on communication, feedback, teamwork, and engagement.
  • Planning the effective and efficient scheduling of labor, equipment, and materials for Corrugated Operations.
  • Providing expertise and direction on equipment, parts, and materials needed, and coordinating preventative maintenance.
  • Fostering strong relationships and communication with internal and external departments and stakeholders.
  • Enforcing safety rules and behaviors, ensuring timely reporting of accidents/incidents, and implementing proactive prevention measures.
  • Providing daily performance feedback and conducting performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Facilitating crew meetings to address safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Administering the collective agreement and company policies/procedures.
  • Serving as a backup for the Department or Production Superintendent as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring To The Table
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Supervisory or operations leadership experience in the Corrugated packaging sector is highly desired; experience in high-volume manufacturing is required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to achieve results.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts as per operational requirements.
