Job summary

Job description

Production Supervisor

Support our Operations team in cross‑functional operational activities. This role is responsible for leading a team of production employees in the Assembly department. This hands‑on leadership role ensures production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and with consistent high quality results. The Production Supervisor promotes a positive workplace culture, focuses on continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with company, legislative, and Quality standards. They will also need to demonstrate their ability to perform all aspects while contributing to Plant SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale) objectives.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Assembly team to achieve safety, quality, and production targets.
  • Monitor daily production schedules and assign work to ensure on‑time delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all safety procedures and environmental standards are followed, promoting a zero‑incident culture.
  • Maintain product quality and ensure compliance with Quality Standards.
  • Identify and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and collaboration with cross‑functional departments.
  • Recommend improvements to optimize equipment performance, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Support and coordinate equipment maintenance, repair, and tooling availability to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain strong communication with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to address process or material challenges.
  • Train and develop new employees in the safe and effective assembly operations.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and standard work instructions are followed consistently.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance overall plant performance.
  • Foster respectful employee relations, addressing concerns constructively, problem‑solving interpersonal issues in alignment with plant and company policies.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent automotive senior level experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience working within an automotive manufacturing environment would be an asset.
  • Experience in assembly operations or related plastic polymers manufacturing is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of production operations and set‑up procedures.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven supervisory skills is required with the ability to coach, motivate, and manage performance and interpersonal issues in a unionized environment.
  • Solid understanding of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental regulations.
  • Excellent communication in English (spoken and written).
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships in a team‑based, unionized environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving skills while maintaining calm under pressure.
  • Quality‑driven work ethic, using continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Professional and a collaborative, solution‑focused mindset.
Work Schedule & Pay
  • Schedule: Full‑time, On‑site, Manufacturing Operations
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, rotating day & afternoon shifts. Weekend work when scheduled as per customer demand.
  • Overtime: As required, in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation.
  • Compensation Range: $60,000–$80,000 annual.
