Job summary

isgSearch Production Supervisor (Contract) role in Toronto oversees daily manufacturing, leading frontline teams, scheduling, and ensuring safety and quality. You will drive production metrics, coach staff, and work closely with maintenance and quality to meet targets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a technical field or equivalent manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with production metrics, KPIs, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to make effective day-to-day operational decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and manufacturing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support production employees and front-line supervisors to meet daily production objectives.
  • Coordinate labour, scheduling, and shift activities to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Monitor production performance, labour efficiency, scrap, rework, downtime, and other key metrics.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to equipment, quality, and production issues.
  • Work closely with maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and address recurring issues.
  • Partner with Quality to investigate defects, customer concerns, and process issues.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Support employee training, performance management, workforce planning, and day-to-day employee relations.
  • Coordinate inventory activities and ensure materials are available to support production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reporting, including KPIs and operational summaries.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
  • Support production planning and scheduling to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Assist with recruitment and management of temporary labour as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
