Job summary

Nature Fresh Farms is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Leamington, Ontario facility. The role involves creating labour plans for packing operations, guiding a fast-paced team, and coordinating with multiple departments to meet production and quality targets.

  • Create labour plans for packing operations based on production quantities.
  • Update team on production and quality requirements.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to coordinate schedules and quality.
  • Assist Production Manager with performance reviews, incident reports, and H&S investigations.
  • Coordinate with Commodity department on orders and adjustments.
  • Maintain order records through shift communication.
  • Report labour and H&S incidents.
  • Assist on assignments and projects as needed.
  • Support scheduling to ensure full shift coverage and even workload.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and company policies.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, afternoon, permanent position for a Production Supervisor in our Productiondepartment at our Leamington, Ontario facility.

What You’ll Do:
  • Create labour plans for the packing operations based on production quantities.
  • Update their team on production and quality requirements.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to coordinate and ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met.
  • Assist the Production Manager with performance reviews, incident reports, H&S investigation.
  • Communicate with the Commodity department regarding orders, product, adjustments etc.
  • Maintain order records by constant communication with the opposing shift.
  • Report all labour and H&S related incidents.
  • Assist the Production Manager on various assignments and projects that may arise.
  • Assist the Production Manager with team schedule to ensure full coverage on all shifts and workload is distributed evenly.
  • Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring:
  • Must have experience managing a team.
  • Strong reading, writing, and oral communication.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is an asset.
  • Ability to embrace and adapt to the rapid growth, innovation, and development of the company.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Must be committed to continuous learning as every day presents new information and exciting challenges.
  • Must be available to work Sunday through Friday; an average 50-60 hours per week on the afternoon shift.
What To Expect:
  • Fast paced warehouse environment where temperatures vary from cooler to temperature-controlled areas.
  • Working with a wide array of people/cultures in a team setting. These include offshore workers, locals, contractors, and vendors, etc.
  • Time spent in production area and office setting.
  • Walking, sitting, and standing throughout the day.
  • Team-oriented environment with some independent work.
  • Must be available 6 days a week, roughly 50-60 hours per week including weekends and holidays as needed. Hours can fluctuate according to the needs of the business.
