With a focus on quality, innovation, and operational efficiency, the organization we represent is committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards across its manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The client is looking for a Production Planning & Operations Coordinator to join their team in Coquitlam. Shift times run from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role will be responsible for coordinating production activities, material availability, inventory requirements, and shipping schedules to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.

Acting as a key point of contact between Production, Inventory, Procurement, Shipping, Engineering, and Sales, the successful candidate will help ensure resources are aligned with production priorities, customer orders are fulfilled on time, and potential operational challenges are addressed proactively.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with a background in production planning, manufacturing coordination, and supply chain operations who enjoys working cross-functionally and identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with material availability, inventory requirements, and shipping schedules to support efficient daily operations.
  • Work closely with inventory personnel to ensure materials are allocated and prepared according to upcoming production requirements.
  • Monitor material shortages, supplier deliveries, and project-specific requirements, addressing potential delays before they affect production.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Shipping to align incoming materials and outgoing customer orders with operational priorities.
  • Maintain regular communication with Sales regarding order progress, delivery timelines, scheduling changes, and potential delays.
  • Assess urgent customer requests and expedited orders while minimizing disruption to existing production commitments.
  • Review anticipated workloads and production capacity to identify resource constraints and opportunities to improve utilization.
  • Coordinate new product trials with Engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring materials, equipment, and supporting information are available.
  • Organize pre-trial and post-trial discussions to review results, address issues, and establish appropriate next steps.
  • Work with operational leaders to evaluate production standards, output expectations, and packaging requirements for new products.
  • Monitor adherence to production and shipping targets, identify recurring challenges, and recommend improvements to existing processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on workflow efficiency, material movement, order fulfillment, and cross-departmental coordination.
  • Provide backup support for production scheduling activities as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduate diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, or a related operational role.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory coordination, material planning, and order fulfillment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with operational data and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Infor Visual is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and the confidence to identify potential risks before they affect production or customer commitments.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical solutions.
  • A collaborative, dependable, and results-oriented approach to supporting overall operational performance.
COMPENSATION
  • $28 to $34 an hour based on experience.
  • Extended health benefits including dental and vision, as well as long-term disability.
  • RSP matching.
