Southmedic Inc. in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a Production Planner to develop and manage a cost-efficient manufacturing plan for the Assembly Department. You will forecast demand, schedule orders and monitor capacity while advising on capacity constraints and solving production conflicts.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in production resource planning and supply chain management.
  • Knowledgeable of product specifications and manufacturing process flow.
  • Post-secondary education related to supply chain management or production planning.
  • Excellent organizational, judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, instructions and policies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, communication and data accuracy.

We are looking for a Production Planner – a skilled individual who is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective manufacturing plan for the Assembly Department. The Assembly Production Planner is responsible for but not limited to predictive planning, scheduling of orders and monitoring of plan capacity and advise when capacity is going to become a concern. The Assembly Production Planner is responsible to advise manufacturing and materials management of production conflicts and provide possible solutions. The Assembly Production Planner is responsible for ensuring the demand for purchased parts is accurate parts for the assembly area.

What You Will Do
  • The Planning & Supply Chain Manager is fully briefed on the current schedule attainment in the Assembly department.
  • Supports purchasing as to stock requirements for the completion of all Assembly department orders.
  • Provides manufacturing lead times to customer service.
  • Manages and monitor Customer supplied material relating to production plan.
  • Ensures Assembly department meets the production deadlines to ensure on time customer delivery.
  • Back up the Jr Production Planner and Tier 2 Customer Service for vacation and absence.
  • Provide assembly schedules to manufacturing associates and management.
  • Plan production through the use of material planning module within Southmedic’s ERP system.
  • Use sales reports to project planned production requirements.
  • Review inventory levels in all warehouses and plan production to replenish stock.
  • Provide timelines that will address all back-order situations.
  • Shall ensure any challenges in manufacturing are brought up in the daily morning manufacturing meeting and pushes for solutions to ensure solutions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Push cost saving initiatives for manufacturing that align with corporate focus/direction.
  • Shall ensure that all business is performed with an attention to detail and are done in accordance with the Southmedic Quality System, mission and values.
  • Provide schedule attainment metrics to manufacturing management.
  • To administrate annual cycle count for contract customers and where required adjustments to inventory are made based on sound investigation of variance.
What We Need
  • Strong background in production resource planning and supply chain management.
  • Knowledgeable of the various product specifications
  • Understanding of manufacturing process flow and requirements.
  • Post-secondary education relating to supply chain management, production planning
  • Problem solving skills are essential to ensure that work orders and personnel are managed in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Have excellent organizational skills, good judgement and good problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures, work instructions and company policies
  • Proficiency within Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc..)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work constructively across departments.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, make sound recommendations, and follow issues through to resolution.

Salary Range: $55,000 -$60,000
