Production - Machine Process Operator

Hiring for multiple openings due to growth.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Setup and operate processing machine

  • Learn and adhere to departmental safety policies, procedures and work instructions

  • Retrieve and setup of molds for processing when needed

  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and safe from hazards

  • Maximize efficiencies of production

  • Responsible for producing quality products on time

  • Keep the machine in good working order through scheduled preventative maintenance

  • Develop the ability to identify issues and react or make changes to improve quality/output productively and undertake other assigned tasks as needed

  • Report machine or equipment problems to the Team Lead or designate

  • Participate in or help with continuous improvement team to improve processes

  • Ensure preventative maintenance requirements are completed as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong attendance required

  • Willingness to work overtime if required

  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.

  • Ability to solve practical problems.

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Requires good judgement

  • Requires good housekeeping skills

Minimum Qualifications

Grade 12 or two years of chemical or plastic processing experience

Technical/Mechanical troubleshooting skills

Forklift certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to the conditions of a manufacturing environment, such as dirt, noise, fumes, heat and outside weather conditions. The employee is required to work with hazardous materials and may be occasionally exposed to some chemicals or solvents. Use of PPE and safety procedures must be followed.

Physical Demands

This position requires the individual to pass a medical examination and wear a respirator to determine ability to perform the job.

While carrying out the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; to work in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery; work from lifts and ladders; manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies; concurrently manipulate multiple controls and machinery with pushing and pulling motions; work in hazardous or dirty, dusty, or uncomfortable environments including hot temperature conditions; and wear and work in personal protective equipment.
