About The Role

The Production–Liquid Operator role requires a strong combination of technical ability, food‑safety awareness, communication skills, and mechanical aptitude to ensure safe and efficient transformation of raw materials into finished liquid products.

The Production–Liquid Operator role requires a strong combination of technical ability, food‑safety awareness, communication skills, and mechanical aptitude to ensure safe and efficient transformation of raw materials into finished liquid products.

Key responsibilities
  • Technical & Equipment Operation Skills
  • Ability to enter and follow production recipes accurately according to schedule.
  • Skilled in adjusting pre‑refiners, refiners, and conch temperatures to meet recipe and customer specifications.
  • Proficiency in adding fats, flavours, and emulsifiers following established formulations.
  • Ability to pump product between processing equipment and finished tanks safely and efficiently.
  • Experience operating PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
  • Competence in performing quality checks, including fineness testing and monitoring CCPs.
  • Ability to perform basic and preventative maintenance and identify issues requiring further repair.
  • Food Safety & Compliance Skills
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, CCP documentation, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform and document HACCP, Quality, and Safety checks consistently.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures, including maintaining cleanliness of production rooms and compliance with sanitation schedules.
  • Commitment to employee safety protocols and safe handling of materials.
  • Systems & Documentation Skills
  • Ensure compliance to BCOS (Barry Callebaut Operating System) – TPM/Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP for production, inventory, and data entry tasks.
  • Ability to track inventory, clean magnets, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail for completing production records, logs, and shift documentation.
  • Communication & Teamwork Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate production status to incoming shift personnel for seamless changeovers.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with Shift Lead, Cell 1, Cell 3 and maintenance.
  • Capacity to follow instructions and communicate operational needs or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Mechanical & Troubleshooting Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude to identify and correct minor equipment issues.
  • Awareness of when to elevate mechanical problems to the Shift Lead or maintenance team.
  • Physical & Operational Skills
  • Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment, including prolonged standing, lifting, operating processing equipment, and working in hot conditions.
  • Capable of maintaining workflow in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven production environment.
About You

You are a safety-focused, detail-oriented manufacturing professional with experience in food production and process operations. You have a strong understanding of production equipment, quality standards, and food safety requirements, and are comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team-oriented environment.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education in Food Processing, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Experience operating production equipment, PLC systems, and working with SAP or similar manufacturing systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles, CCP monitoring, and food safety regulations.
Technical Skills
  • Ability to accurately enter and execute production recipes according to schedule.
  • Experience adjusting processing equipment, including pre‑refiners, refiners, and conches, to meet product specifications.
  • Skilled in adding ingredients according to approved formulations and transferring product safely between processing equipment and finished tanks.
  • Ability to perform quality checks, fineness testing, and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
Communication & Teamwork
  • Effective communicator who can provide clear shift handovers and production updates.
  • Collaborative team player who works well with production, maintenance, and leadership teams.
  • Able to follow established procedures while proactively identifying operational improvements and concerns.
Work Environment
  • Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures, including warm processing areas.
  • Able to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of housekeeping, sanitation, and workplace safety.
