Job summary

North Country Premium Sausage is seeking a Production helper in Thunder Bay to join a busy meat processing facility. The role requires handling ingredients, operating grinders and bandsaws, and supporting process operators.

Flexible shifts include day, evening, weekend, and morning, with permanent full-time employment. Applicants should have a high school diploma, English fluency, and food safety credentials.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about food safety and handling.

Responsibilities

• Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
• Manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers.
• Feed and unload processing machines.
• Wrap and package prepared meats.
• Weigh meats for sale.
• Grind meats.
• Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
• Set up process equipment and adhere to cleanroom procedures.

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about food safety and handling.

• The candidate must cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat.
• The candidate will be responsible for cutting meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial, or other wholesale use.
• The candidate will be responsible for setting up process equipment and adhering to cleanroom procedures.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have a Food Safety Certificate and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
• The candidate must be able to lift weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate must be flexible.
