Job summary

Westfine Meats Inc. is seeking an entry-level Labourer for our meat processing plant. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential shift end variations. You will be part of a team performing multiple production tasks from harvest to value-added processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean floors and assist with moving lambs.
• Handle hides and carcasses as directed.
• Transport inedible products to appropriate areas.
• Bag and box lamb products; assemble combos.
• Pallete products and assist with packaging.
• Follow supervisor or manager instructions and safety protocols.
• Assist process control and machine operators.
• Perform daily verifications and monitor product quality.

Westfine Meats Inc. is currently hiring an entry-level Labourer at our meat processing plant. This position works Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Shift end times may vary.

Job Opportunities

Harvest Floor

• Cleaning floors
• Assisting with moving lambs
• Pulling hides
• Vacuuming carcasses
• Sorting carcasses
• Hanging offal's
• Taking garbage and cardboard out

Production Floor

• Transport inedible products to appropriate areas
• Bagging lamb products
• Boxing lamb products
• Making combos
• Making boxes
• Palletizing
• Strapper Operator
• Cleaning Floors
• Other duties assigned by supervisor or manager

Value Added

• Set up / take down equipment and clean as needed
• Follow recipes to mix ground products
• Perform daily and hourly production verifications
• Monitor for defects in product. (Safety, food quality or final product)
• Make flattened cardboard into boxes
• Remove formed product from conveyors and place in packaging
• Clean work areas and equipment
• Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties.
• Other duties and/or special projects assigned by HR / Safety Coordinator or Manager
• Watch out for the health and safety of yourself and fellow workers
• Follow the room procedures and protocols to create new spice added products.

Requirements

Assets

• Previous experience working in a meat processing plant OR production related work
• Education experience in agriculture
• Butcher experience
