Job summary

Metalcraft Technology Inc in Coquitlam, BC, is hiring a Production Helper to join our manufacturing team. The role involves clocking in/out with scanners, interpreting engineering drawings, inspecting quality, handling stock, and keeping the shop floor clean and safe.

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with on-site duties. We welcome candidates who are detail-oriented, hardworking, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal shop or industrial/trades environment.
• Detail-oriented, hardworking, and hands-on.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Strong listening skills and ability to follow directions.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Use the scanners to clock in and out of all job’s orders.
• Study job orders and interpret engineering drawings to determine operations to be performed.
• Maintain quality standards by conducting first article inspections (FAI) and using hold tags.
• File in Work-Orders (Completed quantity counts, first article inspection sign offs), and initiating Non-conformance reports (NCR).
• Load, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or dolly.
• Clean and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using scraping tool.
• Pickup scrap from work areas, & general clean-up of the shop floor.
• Do daily cleaning of the work area being used (including equipment and workspace).
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Proactively report machine problems or non-routine maintenance required.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Support other activities as required by company requirements and management direction.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks/goals as needed.

We serve clients in Canada and the U.S. from our location in Coquitlam, BC, and currently looking for a production helper to join our team. • Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required.
• Reliable and committed to workplace responsibilities.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Required to wear steel-toe boots.
