Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist with beam saw cutting operations.
  • Assemble wall, roof, and floor panel components.
  • Perform marriage station alignment and joining of panels.
  • Build and assemble sub-frame components.
  • Operate insulation systems.
  • Install sheathing and assist with panel finishing.
  • Support panel storage and staging.
  • Receive incoming materials and verify deliveries.
  • Transport materials to production stations.
  • Support materials outflow and shipment preparation.
  • Provide backup line support to maintain workflow.
  • Follow OHSA, WHMIS, and factory safety protocols.
  • Use PPE and maintain safe work practices.
  • Conduct basic inspections and report safety concerns.
  • Assist with quality control and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in foundational, safety, and equipment training.
  • Support peer learning and mentorship initiatives.
  • Rotate stations to support cross-functional operations.
  • Contribute to a respectful, culturally safe, and inclusive workplace.

About Us

Anishnawbe G’Zhiitoonegamic (A’Gic), meaning “Peoples Place of Building”, is an indigenous women-led social enterprise located at 300 Archer Drive in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The enterprise offers a transformative solution to the housing crisis facing Indigenous and Northern communities. Emerging from the Keepers of the Circle and grounded in Indigenous values – A’Gic provides low-carbon, energy-efficient modular homes that are not only affordable and climate-resilient but also culturally grounded and community-informed.

Summary of Position

The Production Floor Operator is a hands-on role within A’Gic’s modular housing manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Production Lead, this position works collaboratively on the factory floor to support panel production, material flow, and quality control. Operators will be cross trained across multiple production stations to ensure flexibility, teamwork, and continuous workflow.

This position operates in a mechanized manufacturing environment and supports production, safety, and operational departments. Work is performed on-site at the Kirkland Lake factory, with standard weekday shifts and occasional schedule adjustments based on production needs.

Expected start date:

Spring–Summer 2026 (training phase).

Job Requirements
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

Production Floor Operators will be cross-trained and may rotate through the following stations:

Production Operations
  • Operate and assist with Beam Saw cutting operations.
  • Assemble wall, roof, and floor panel components.

  • Operate Isocell dense-pack insulation systems.
  • Install sheathing and assist with panel finishing.
  • Support panel storage and staging.
Materials Handling & Logistics
  • Receive incoming materials and verify deliveries.
  • Transport materials to production stations.
  • Support materials outflow and shipment preparation.
  • Provide backup line support to maintain workflow.
Quality & Safety
  • Follow OHSA, WHMIS, and factory safety protocols.
  • Use PPE and maintain safe work practices.
  • Conduct basic inspections and report safety concerns.
  • Assist with quality control and workflow efficiency.
