Position Details

Position Title: Product Owner – Group Digital Experience
Reports To: Director, Operations and Digital Experience
Department: Group
Term: Permanent Full Time

Work Arrangements: Hybrid role. You will work in our Waterloo, ON office at least two (2) consecutive days every other week, plus one additional day per month. More frequent in-office work may be required depending on role needs.

Equitable is growing! We are looking to add a Product Owner – Group Digital Experience to our Group team. This role oversees the Group web and mobile experience, making strategic decisions about what to build, managing the product vision, backlog, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and articulate the North Star vision for the product
  • Define a compelling future experience
  • Evaluate backlog items based on value creation
  • Align product strategies with overall portfolio and product line
  • Use the product vision and roadmap to prioritize work
  • Set expectations with stakeholders for delivery timelines
  • Focus on continuous value delivery and stakeholder collaboration
  • Develop client-centric measures to enhance satisfaction
  • Conduct client research, develop journey maps, and identify pain points
  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver solutions
  • Ensure backlog items are aligned with business outcomes
Qualifications and Skills
  • Negotiation skills with squads, peers, and stakeholders
  • Problem analysis from multiple perspectives; creative strategic thinking
  • Ability to work with limited information and high-level concepts
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with backlog development and prioritization
  • Performance evaluation of products
  • Accountability and initiative
  • Open-mindedness and adaptability
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience with facilitation and client journey mapping tools (e.g., Miro) is a plus
