Job description

Being a traditional bank just isn’t our thing. We are big believers in innovating the banking experience because we believe Canadians deserve better options, and we challenge ourselves and our teams to creatively transform what’s possible in banking. Our team is made up of inquisitive and agile minds that find smarter ways of doing things. Overall, we serve more than 670,000 people across Canada through Equitable Bank, Canada's Challenger Bank, and have been around for more than 50 years. Equitable Bank's wholly-owned subsidiary, Concentra Bank, supports credit unions across Canada that serve more than six million members. Together we have over $125 billion in combined assets under management and administration, with a clear mandate to drive change in Canadian banking to enrich people's lives. Our customers have named our EQ Bank digital platform (eqbank.ca) one of the top banks in Canada on the Forbes World's Best Banks list since 2021.

Reporting to the Group Product Manager, Digital Banking, and working alongside senior management, the Senior Product Manager is responsible for devising strategies and launching agile initiatives to develop Equitable Bank’s enterprise-wide customer data platform. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing strategy and roadmaps for service functionality across all channels, including financial and experience justification, overall design, and customer experience.
  2. Delivering new products and features in digital channels.
  3. Assisting in the operation of the customer data platform and services, ensuring their availability to customers.
  4. Supporting the team in delivering a leading, personalized customer experience in digital channels.
  5. Managing various vendor relationships.
  6. Leading the Scrum team to ensure capabilities are in-scope, on-time, and high quality.
  7. Defining capabilities, value propositions, and requirements for the Scrum teams.
  8. Developing product roadmaps and managing backlog prioritization.
  9. Reviewing QA test plans and facilitating testing for adherence to requirements.
  10. Engaging with bank stakeholders and communicating product releases and capabilities.
  11. Managing business activities supporting agile initiatives, such as operating models, training, and communications.
  12. Facilitating problem solving and working closely with development teams.
  13. Coaching team members and supporting their development.

Qualifications include a Post-Secondary Degree in relevant fields, with a preference for an MBA or graduate degree, and 10+ years of experience in financial institutions leading data platforms and online banking channels. Experience in Fraud domain, core banking systems, SDLC, and Canadian banking regulations is highly preferred. Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills are essential. The role offers benefits, professional development, and a hybrid work environment based in Toronto, ON.
