Qualifications

• Strong technical understanding in electrical engineering, power systems, controls, automation, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage the vision, strategy, and roadmap for an edge-control platform and future edge tech offerings.
• Work with customers and partners to understand needs and market trends.
• Translate feedback and business objectives into clear product priorities.
• Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate technologies and drive development.
• Identify opportunities across microgrids, energy storage, DERs, EMS, and related techs.
• Make investment and prioritization decisions balancing value, feasibility, and impact.
• Develop requirements, workflows, and release priorities for Engineering.
• Serve as the liaison between technical teams, customers, and leadership.
• Coordinate with Sales, CS, Services, Support, and Ops to address recurring issues.
• Support launches, communications, training, and go-to-market activities.
• Monitor adoption and feedback to guide future investments.

Position Overview

Hammehr invites applications for the role of Product Manager on behalf of our client, a growing energy technology company, for a full-time permanent opportunity.

You’ll help define the direction of an established Solar and Energy Storage platform while identifying and developing the organization’s next generation of site-level energy solutions. The mandate combines ownership of an existing product roadmap with forward-looking work across battery energy storage, microgrids, distributed energy resources, energy management systems, controls, and other technologies that support reliable operation at the site level.

Previous Product Management experience is valuable but not essential. The company is also open to technically strong professionals from applications engineering, controls, power systems, solutions engineering, automation, or similar backgrounds who have influenced product direction, worked closely with customers, and are interested in moving into broader product leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Define and manage the vision, strategy, and roadmap for an established edge-control platform and future edge technology offerings
• Work directly with customers and industry partners to understand operational challenges, technical requirements, and emerging market needs
• Translate customer feedback, market intelligence, technical considerations, and business objectives into clear product priorities
• Partner closely with Engineering and technical subject matter experts to evaluate technologies, shape solutions, and guide product development
• Identify new opportunities across microgrid controls, battery energy storage, distributed energy resources, site-level energy management, protection systems, and related technologies
• Make product investment and prioritization decisions by balancing customer value, technical feasibility, strategic alignment, and business impact
• Develop product requirements, workflows, use cases, and release priorities that provide Engineering with clear direction
• Act as the connection point between technical teams, customer-facing groups, and company leadership
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, Support, and Operations to identify recurring customer issues and opportunities for improvement
• Support product launches, customer communications, training, sales enablement, and go-to-market activities
• Monitor product adoption, customer satisfaction, market feedback, and platform performance to guide future investment decisions
• Communicate roadmap decisions, priorities, trade-offs, and delivery progress clearly to internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in energy technology, engineering, product management, controls, software, or a related technical discipline
• Experience within the electricity or distributed energy industry, including exposure to battery energy storage, distributed energy resources, microgrids, power systems, energy management, utility interconnections, or related technologies
• Strong technical understanding developed through areas such as electrical engineering, power systems, controls, automation, applications engineering, solutions engineering, or technical product ownership
• Experience working directly with customers, partners, or external stakeholders to understand requirements and solve technical or operational problems
• Experience contributing to product direction, technical roadmaps, solution development, technology strategy, or investment decisions
• Ability to translate complex customer and technical requirements into clear priorities and practical solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and align stakeholders without relying on direct authority
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Product Management or Product Ownership experience involving technical products
• Experience developing product strategies, requirements, roadmaps, or business cases
• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems, commonly referred to as BESS
• Experience with microgrids, Distributed Energy Resources, or Energy Management Systems
• Knowledge of industrial controls, PLCs, SCADA, protection and relay systems, or grid-connected control technologies
• Understanding of utility interconnections, grid operations, or site-level energy optimization
• Experience bringing a new product, system, or technology solution from initial concept through development and market launch
• Experience supporting customer presentations, complex sales discussions, product demonstrations, or go-to-market initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related discipline
