Job summary

Tayco is seeking a Product Engineer Coordinator to join our team in Toronto. The role focuses on developing and engineering new product solutions, ensuring designs are manufacturable, cost-conscious, and compliant with industry testing and safety standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance design concepts, prepare detailed drawings and documentation, coordinate prototypes and pre-production, and support claims and value engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma or equivalent experience.
• P.Eng license or equivalent.
• 5-7 years engineering experience in product design/manufacturing.
• Experience with sheet metal, plastics, glass, wood materials.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering product solutions for PDO and manufacturing projects.
• Incorporate process/material advances while respecting supplier capabilities.
• Evolve design concepts through modeling, prototyping, testing and analysis.
• Prepare complete technical documentation and drawings per ISO.
• Coordinate prototype fabrication for design evolution and training.
• Assist with cost analysis and value engineering efforts.
• Ensure product designs meet testing requirements and safety standards.
