Job summary

Clio is seeking a Product Design Manager to lead design across our Enterprise segment, including Vincent and Operate. This player-coach role combines strategy with hands-on design in a high-growth AI-enabled environment for enterprise legal professionals.

You will mentor a team of product designers, partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science, and champion user-centered design while leveraging AI thoughtfully to meet complex workflows.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product design experience in SaaS or complex platforms.
  • 5+ years leading and mentoring product design teams.
  • Proven track record delivering high-quality, user-centered products at scale.
  • Deep expertise in user research, interaction design, and systems thinking.
  • Experience designing for enterprise users with complex workflows.
  • Ability to connect design strategy to business outcomes.
  • Coaching mindset to grow talent and lead through ambiguity.
  • Proficient with design tools such as Figma and Miro.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design.

Summary:

We’re seeking a Product Design Manager to lead design across our Enterprise segment. This is a rare opportunity to shape the design direction of a category-defining product at the forefront of AI and legal technology. Our Enterprise offerings cover Vincent, Clio’s AI-powered legal intelligence platform, and Operate, our enterprise-grade practice and matter management platform.This role is available to candidates in Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US.If you are located near one of our Toronto hub, you will be expected to work in the office a minimum of twice per week on our designated Anchor Days.

What your team does:

As part of Clio’s Enterprise division, this role sits at the heart of our most ambitious growth story. Clio Operate and Vincent together form a category-defining product suite that is enabling untethered growth for legal clients worldwide. Operate grew revenue by ~100% in 2025, and Vincent is accelerating fast.

This is a player-coach role. You’ll lead a talented team of product designers, working closely with Product and Engineering to deliver intelligent, human-centered experiences that meet the sophisticated needs of enterprise legal professionals. You’ll also roll up your sleeves and dive into design yourself, as part of a broader entrepreneurial cross-functional team. As part of the design management team, you’ll be a key player in advancing design maturity across Vincent as the product scales globally.

What you’ll work on:
  • Define and drive the experience strategy for Vincent, ensuring design decisions reflect the complex workflows and high standards of enterprise legal users.

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of product designers, fostering a culture of curiosity, autonomy, collaboration, and continuous growth.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to shape the product roadmap and deliver cohesive, high-quality experiences.

  • Champion user-centered design by embedding research and data-informed practices into the product development process.

  • Communicate design rationale, insights, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

  • Leverage AI capabilities thoughtfully to create intelligent, adaptive experiences that serve enterprise legal professionals.

  • Hire and develop exceptional design talent through feedback, coaching, and performance development.

  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet delivery goals and drive long-term strategic impact.

What you may have:
  • 7+ years of product design experience, including SaaS or complex platform environments.

  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing product design teams.

  • A proven track record of shipping high-quality, user-centered products at scale.

  • Deep expertise in user research, interaction design, and systems thinking.

  • Experience designing for enterprise users with complex, high-stakes workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to connect design strategy to business and customer outcomes.

  • A coaching mindset, able to build trust, grow talent, and lead through ambiguity.

  • Proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools (Figma, Miro, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.

  • A growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI.

Serious bonus points if you:
  • Experience designing AI-driven or data-intensive products.

  • Familiarity with legal, enterprise, or regulated industry products.

  • Experience contributing to or evolving platform-level design systems in multi-product environments.

The expected salary range* for this role is $150,000 to $187,500 to $225,000 CAD. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

*Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
