Job summary

Dawson College in Montreal seeks a qualified instructor in Industrial Design to join our department. In addition to teaching, you will participate in pedagogical days and departmental meetings while engaging in student-centered activities such as field trips, competitions, and the year-end Graduate Exhibition.

Experience teaching at the college level is an asset, and English communication must be excellent; knowledge of French is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field is required.
• Seven years of professional experience are required.
• Proficiency in CAD software is required.
• Teaching experience at the College level is an asset.
• Excellent English communication skills are essential.
• General knowledge of French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill regular teaching responsibilities.
• Involvement in pedagogical days organized by the College.
• Participate in departmental meetings.
• Engage in student-focused activities such as field trips, competitions, and the year-end Graduate Exhibition.
• Perform other department-related administrative duties.

Note: The selection committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Candidates to be considered under this option must have completed at least the equivalent of a College level Diploma (DEC). Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional / industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
