Engine is Starling's SaaS business, built to power Starling Bank, which became a separate entity two years ago.

Starling Bank has achieved exceptional growth through its modern, ground-up technology platform. This SaaS platform is now available to banks worldwide, enabling them to leverage innovative digital features and efficient back-office processes that contributed to Starling's success.

Who are Engine by Starling?

Engine is the technology arm of Starling Bank, headquartered in London, with offices in Dublin, Sydney, and the UK. We recently launched in North America, establishing an East Coast HQ and presence in Canada. This role is based in Toronto and may require travel.

We have a Hybrid working model, preferring candidates within commuting distance of our offices for in-person collaboration. Travel, including international, may be necessary depending on client needs.

About the role

This position places you at the core of Engine’s Product Delivery team, responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the Engine platform for clients. You will manage large-scale programs end-to-end, focusing on specific functional workstreams (e.g., Onboarding, Payments & Cards), working closely with clients to understand their challenges and address them with technology. This role requires a strong understanding of the Engine product and digital banking.

We seek versatile, adaptable individuals who enjoy a varied, collaborative environment. You will collaborate with Product owners and Engineering teams to design and implement client solutions, enjoy problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and supporting clients through their transformation journeys, alongside strong project management skills.

What you'll do :

  • Build relationships at all levels within client organizations
  • Engage from pre-sales to implementation
  • Understand client vision, challenges, and priorities
  • Collaborate with product and solution teams to design tailored solutions
  • Manage delivery of specific solution areas, representing client needs internally
  • Coordinate with Engineering to meet program timelines
  • Support transition from delivery to operational support (Run)
  • Contribute to scaling the Delivery function, sharing insights and establishing methodologies
  • Assist in client discovery and demo sessions for new clients
  • Experience in client-facing roles, consulting, or at a tech company
  • Some experience in financial services and tech implementation
  • Proven ability to deliver complex programs
  • Ability to understand client problems quickly and present solutions clearly
  • Ownership mindset with awareness of when to escalate risks / issues
  • Detail-oriented and inquisitive about how things work
  • Structured problem-solving approach
  • Technical curiosity and aptitude
  • Self-motivated, capable of working autonomously
  • Facilitation skills for workshops and discovery sessions
  • Flexible delivery approach, familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with financial services clients is a plus
