This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Halifax that requires on-site presence.
CBC Nova Scotia is looking for a Producer to help lead our Visual Storytelling efforts across all platforms.
As a Visual Storytelling producer, your job would be multi-faceted with a particular focus on line-up duties for CBC Nova Scotia News at 6 and producing the 30-minute late video newscast. You would also be responsible for supporting the production of individual videos for our website, YouTube channel, and the CBC Nova Scotia streaming channel.
In addition to vetting scripts, writing program continuity, editing video and creating graphics, the producer will take an active interest in the overall content, texture and production values of the programs and how video is represented on our digital platforms and social channels.
Reporting to the Executive Producer, the successful candidate will be a key member of CBC Nova Scotia’s video unit, tasked with planning, creating and distributing compelling visual content to CBC’s digital, social, streaming and television platforms while helping plan for the future of visual storytelling in Nova Scotia.
You will be an editorial leader in the newsroom and a champion for innovative visual storytelling content, advocating for the creative use of video, still images, graphics and other visual storytelling techniques.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience and knowledge of digital, broadcast and social media strategies, an understanding of how audiences consume content across platforms and a desire to experiment with new forms of storytelling.
You are a critical thinker who is solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
