Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to keep the produce department well stocked and ready for customers. You will help maintain fresh displays, assist shoppers, and support backroom operations. Full training is provided, and no prior experience is required.

As part of a fast-paced team, you will greet customers, stock shelves, and assist with inventory and POS duties as needed, contributing to a positive shopping experience for all guests.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required.
• Willing to learn quickly and adapt.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both oral and written.
• Strong customer service qualities.
• Flexible with hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations.
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Sobeys programs.
• Stocking produce and related product to shelves such as (Frozen, perishable and non-perishables).
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Sobeys programs.
• Rotation of product.
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor.
• Backroom and inventory management.
• Operating a cash register as needed for relief during peak business hours.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Maintaining a well-stocked department so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy and efficient is the key to building loyalty. That is why our Produce Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Full training is provided for this position.
