Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to help ensure a well-stocked department and a quick, easy shopping experience for customers. No prior experience is required, as full training is provided.

You will greet customers, stock produce, maintain displays, rotate stock, assist with backroom and inventory, and support store operations to deliver excellent service. This role requires strong communication, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies.
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs.
• Stocking produce and related products on shelves (Frozen, perishable and non-perishables).
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs.
• Rotation of product.
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor.
• Backroom and inventory management.
• Operating a cash register as needed for relief during peak business hours.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Maintaining a well-stocked department so that the customer shopping experience is quick, easy and efficient is the key to building loyalty. That is why our Produce Clerks play such an important role in the success of our stores. Full training is provided for this position.
