Job summary

Safeway in Canada is seeking a Produce Clerk to help maintain a well-stocked produce department and ensure a quick, easy and pleasant shopping experience. Full training is provided for this position.

You will greet customers, assist with displays, rotate stock, and handle occasional cash register duties during peak hours. Excellent communication and teamwork are required, with evening and weekend shifts encouraged.

A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are valued.

• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Stocking produce and related product to shelves such as (Frozen, perishable and non-perishables)
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Rotation of product
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor
• Backroom and inventory management
• Operating a cash register as needed for relief during peak business hours
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
