Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Canada invites you to join our Produce Department as a Produce Clerk. Full training is provided, and no previous experience is required to get started. You will help keep the produce department well stocked and inviting for customers, while delivering friendly service and supporting a fast-paced store environment.

Effective teamwork, reliable attendance, and a willingness to work flexible hours—including evenings, weekends, and Sundays as needed, will help you thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written form.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Reliable, team‑oriented and motivated to contribute to store success.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to be scheduled on Sundays (Alberta Only).
• Safe and responsible work approach.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations.
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Demonstrates superior customer service in line with Sobeys programs.
• Stocks produce and related products on shelves (Frozen, perishable, non‑perishables).
• Maintains and builds merchandise displays in Sobeys programs.
• Rotates products to ensure freshness.
• Loads and unloads product for the sales floor.
• Assists with backroom and inventory management.
• Operates a cash register as needed during peak hours.
