Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is hiring a Produce Clerk to deliver exceptional customer service and manage merchandise in a fast-paced retail environment. You will engage customers, assist with product selection, and ensure displays are current and compliant with safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least six months in a relevant department, strong communication skills, and the ability to stand for long periods while handling heavy items. Flexible shifts and a focus on safety are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months experience in a relevant department.
• Strong communication and attentive to customer needs.
• Proficient in receiving, production and display tasks.
• Comfort with providing cooking tips and product recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and store merchandise per standards.
• Package, label and adjust prices as required.
• Display products on counters and in displays.
• Oversee rotations and remove expired/damaged items.
• Provide exceptional customer service and engage customers.
• Promote products and suggest complementary items.
• Advise customers on product selection and tips.
• Possibly handle buffets, credit management, planograms or quality checks.
• Ensure equipment and workspace are clean and safe.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain loss-prevention awareness and minimize breakage.
• Perform related duties as needed.
