Job summary

A manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. The role focuses on sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring inventory supports uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

You will procure materials for multiple sites, monitor stock levels, and coordinate shipments to align with production schedules while negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business or related field.
• Experience in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing or construction.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment parts for multiple sites.
• Monitor inventory levels and generate reports to maintain production flow.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard new suppliers, and secure favorable terms.
• Coordinate and track shipments to meet production schedules.
• Confirm receipt, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.
• Support sourcing via RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluations.
• Gather pricing information and supplier quotations for capital purchases.
• Arrange external maintenance and service providers as needed.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and terms.
• Coordinate equipment and machinery rental needs.
• Oversee full PO lifecycle from creation to closure.
• Build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and partners.

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for sourcing production materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring inventory levels support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment parts, and operational consumables for multiple manufacturing sites
• Monitor inventory levels and generate inventory reports to help maintain continuous production flow
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while securing competitive pricing and favorable terms
• Coordinate and track incoming shipments to ensure materials arrive according to production schedules
• Confirm receipt of purchased items, investigate discrepancies, and resolve receiving issues
• Support sourcing initiatives through RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluations
• Gather pricing information and supplier quotations to support capital equipment purchases
• Arrange and coordinate external maintenance and service providers as required
• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and commercial terms
• Coordinate equipment and machinery rental requirements
• Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, issuance, monitoring, and closure
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and service partners

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, or supplier management within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Exposure to strategic sourcing and vendor performance management
