ABOUT THE ROLE
The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods and services at Exshaw Cement, Sundance and WCAN Cement Terminals – roughly 75% for Exshaw and 25% for the other sites. These responsibilities include: contract implementation, category strategy execution, warehouse management and supplier performance tracking. Purchase Order Creation, sourcing, RFx issuance are also part of the scope. In addition, this role is tasked with attaining cost savings and process improvements under the leadership of the Procurement Manager (PM) and in close cooperation with Category Managers (CM) and local Business Leaders. This position is committed to providing superior customer service to the internal clients of the company and achieving the best possible value for goods and services purchased.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Required Work Experience: 2-5 years in procurement role with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards.
Required Training/Certifications: N/A
Required Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel. Experience with eRFQ and eAuction technologies and SAP is viewed as an asset.
Travel Requirements: 5%
