Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Procurement Specialist to coordinate the procurement of goods and services at Exshaw Cement, Sundance and WCAN Cement Terminals.

You will drive category strategy execution, manage RFx processes, and track supplier performance to achieve value and cost savings while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 2-5 years in procurement with exposure to supply chain management and strategic sourcing.
• Strong Excel skills; SAP, eRFQ and eAuction experience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of goods and services across Exshaw and cement terminals.
• Identify and implement cost savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements.
• Manage RFx processes and contract drafting with PM/CM guidance.
• Maintain relationships with local management and vendor contacts.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Procurement Specialist is primarily responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods and services at Exshaw Cement, Sundance and WCAN Cement Terminals – roughly 75% for Exshaw and 25% for the other sites. These responsibilities include: contract implementation, category strategy execution, warehouse management and supplier performance tracking. Purchase Order Creation, sourcing, RFx issuance are also part of the scope. In addition, this role is tasked with attaining cost savings and process improvements under the leadership of the Procurement Manager (PM) and in close cooperation with Category Managers (CM) and local Business Leaders. This position is committed to providing superior customer service to the internal clients of the company and achieving the best possible value for goods and services purchased.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Coordinate the Procurement of goods and services categories in accordance with category strategy, as well as applicable policies, procedures and specifications.
• Identify and support the realization of savings, supply efficiency, quality, and process improvements.
• Responsible for effective relationship management with key area operational personnel and vendor contacts.
• Maintain close business relationships with local management to anticipate procurement needs and take appropriate action to ensure optimized cost of goods and services.
• In close coordination with PM and CM, negotiate goods or services for lowest cost of ownership.
• Carry on RFx process according to procurement policies.
• Compose contracts and agreements under the direction of the PM with pre-approved templates.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Required Work Experience: 2-5 years in procurement role with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards.
Required Training/Certifications: N/A
Required Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel. Experience with eRFQ and eAuction technologies and SAP is viewed as an asset.
Travel Requirements: 5%

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
