This role supports the Transportation Group by creating and standardizing workflows, work instructions, processes, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance. You will collaborate with transportation teams to prioritize business processes for new account onboarding, service expansion, and maintaining standards.

The Process & Training Specialist will be a subject matter expert in transportation processes, capable of training operational teams through various methods such as videos, online modules, and group meetings. The role also involves advocating for compliance and applying lean principles to support work and customer commitments.

Responsibilities
  • Create operational documentation including workflows, work instructions, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Maintain reference manuals and guides for operational use.
  • Coordinate work priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure documentation is reviewed and approved by relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with operations and interdepartmental teams to understand and train on processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships across operations and transportation teams.
  • Support management in implementing programs to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
  • Conduct effective training across various levels of operations.
  • Standardize documentation to promote consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Act as a liaison during new rollouts and process changes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform assessments and update documentation as needed.
  • Manage and maintain a centralized documentation repository.
  • Develop training plans and execute rollout strategies.
  • Support operational teams, managers, and drivers with training and guidance.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance.
  • Lead training initiatives during peak periods or when introducing new documentation.
Education & Experience
  • Secondary school or college diploma, with a solid understanding of business administration.
  • Supply chain certification, diploma, or degree is a strong asset.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in 3PL, transportation, or warehousing.
  • Experience in training groups is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to write clear processes and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of logistics systems such as TMS, WMS, and routing/planning tools.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-demand environment.
  • Project coordination or management experience is a plus.
  • Valid vehicle access for site visits as needed.
