We are looking for a knowledgeable and engaging professional to join our team in a hybrid role that blends individual financial advising with group education delivery. This role involves providing clear, impactful financial education sessions to employees of our Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services (GRS) clients, while also managing a personal book of business for individual financial planning.

Success in this role requires strong presentation skills, a client-focused approach, and a passion for improving financial literacy. It offers a unique opportunity to combine public speaking with one-on-one advising, while building lasting relationships and making a meaningful impact on clients' financial well-being.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver comprehensive, personalized financial planning to individual clients, covering investment, retirement, tax, insurance, and estate planning.
  • Build and maintain a personal book of business with a focus on holistic wealth management.
  • Conduct regular client reviews to assess progress toward financial goals and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Recommend and implement strategies using appropriate financial products and services to support client objectives.

Education Specialist

  • Develop and deliver engaging group education sessions for employees of Group Benefits and Group Retirement Services (GRS) clients, both virtually and in person.
  • Present on a variety of financial topics, including retirement readiness, investment basics, benefits literacy, insurance, budgeting, and savings strategies.
  • Create and update educational materials and tools to promote financial literacy and improve participant engagement.
  • Collect feedback and measure engagement to continuously enhance session quality and relevance.
  • Collaborate with internal advisors, consultants, and account managers to ensure educational initiatives align with broader client strategies.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, financial products, and regulatory developments.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant industry regulations, including IIROC/MFDA and applicable provincial licensing requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) certification – required
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing with IIROC or MFDA
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation, or currently working toward one – considered a strong asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience delivering financial education in group settings or through public speaking – preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a collaborative, client-focused team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
  • Experience using financial planning software (e.g., Conquest Planning, Razor, NaviPlan)
  • Travel is required
