Job summary

Associated Engineering in Calgary, Canada, is seeking an experienced Process Technologist to design and draft for water projects, working with Designers, Engineers and Technologists. You'll develop Process Flow, P&ID, 3D layouts, review drawings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to project documentation.

  • Diploma in Design/Drafting Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent communication and organization; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Designers, Engineers, and Technologists to provide design and drafting in line with standards.
  • Focus on water projects: water supply, wastewater treatment, reservoirs, lift stations, pumping stations.
  • Cross over into other discipline areas as needed.
  • Create 2D/3D Concept Illustrations with engineers and designers.
  • Develop Process Flow, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Create 3D Layout Designs and 2D Layouts/Sections.
  • Review drawing packages and support design development.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary Technologists and maintain project documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • The successful candidate will work with Designers, Engineers, and other Technologists to provide design and drafting services in accordance with company and client standards.
  • The work will be performed for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on water projects, including water supply, water and wastewater treatment, reservoirs, lift stations, and pumping stations.
  • There will be opportunities to cross over into other discipline areas as well.
  • Collaborating with engineers and designers in creating 2D and 3D Concept Illustrations.
  • Developing Process Flow, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Creating 3D Layout Designs.
  • Drafting 2D Layouts and Sections.
  • Reviewing Drawing Packages.
  • Providing support on design development.
  • Coordinating and Communicating with Multidiscipline Technologists.
  • Developing and maintain project documentation frameworks.
  • Providing input on design details.
  • Taking on CAD Design Lead on projects as required.
Does this sound like you?
  • Diploma in Design/Drafting Technology from an accredited technical institution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft tools. Experience with Plant3D (CADWorx / AutoPlant are also acceptable).
  • Basic understanding or willingness to learn: Revit, Navisworks, Revizto and Sketchup.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills. Committed team player and the ability to work independently.
  • Driven to deliver high quality designs and self-motivated.
  • Building mechanical and BIM knowledge will be an added advantage.
