Job summary

Associated Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in Alberta, with offices in Lethbridge, Calgary, or Medicine Hat. You will take ownership as Engineer of Record on municipal infrastructure projects, lead design to construction activities, and contribute to cost estimates, specs, and contract documents.

You will collaborate with engineers and technologists, oversee tenders and construction administration, and mentor junior staff while advancing your professional development

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the Engineer of Record for designs, technical reports, cost estimates, specifications and construction docs.
• Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept to design and construction.
• Execute tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration and inspection of projects.
• Perform QA/QC reviews for other Engineers of Record on deliverables.
• Mentor and coach engineers and technologists on technical work and project management.

What you’ll do:

• Acting as the Engineer of Record for designs, technical reports, cost estimates, technical specifications and construction contract documents for work completed independently or by others through direct supervision.
• Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept to design to construction.
• Executing tenders, constructability assessments, contract administration, and inspection of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews for other Engineers of Record on project deliverables.
• Mentoring and coaching team of engineers and technologists on technical work and project management processes.

Does this sound like you?

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience in design and construction of stormwater drainage, water transmission, sanitary sewer collection and grading projects in both brownfield and greenfield settings.
• Proven application of government and industry design, standards, specifications, regulations and guidelines for water, sanitary and stormwater infrastructure design and construction.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset.
